Irish Poet Seamus Heaney has suffered a stroke
" The body gaped at the stroke dealt to it after death:" BeowulfThe well loved Irish poet, and Nobel prize winner, Seamus Heaney has suffered a stroke, but fortunately is in recovery. This was recently confirmed by his inability to travel to South Africa for a ceremony to confer Amnesty International's highest award on Nobel peace prize winner Nelson Mandela. We do of course wish him a speedy recovery.
